Kayaking in Elk Island

Of all the natural parks around Edmonton, Elk Island is the most extensive and the most pristine. Motor boats are prohibited here, and that means there is abundant wildlife as well as ideal kayaking conditions. This place tends to get crowded, but if you get here first thing on a bright summer morning you're bound to have an amazing time. Time of day is key--the mornings and evenings are when wildlife is most active and when boaters are least common, so time your trip around this.
